Howard Industries Computer Plant

     CRS Engineering and Design Consultants is completing construction documents for Howard Industries’ proposed new office building and assembly building in Ellisville, near Laurel, Mississippi.

     The complex will be located on a multi-acre site across U.S. Highway 11 from the recently completed quarter-million square foot Howard Industries Substation Transformer facility, also designed by CRS.

     According to Ken W. Cater, PE, president of CRS and principal in charge of the project, the 50,000-square foot office building is five stories and the 70,000-square foot assembly building is one story. The buildings are joined by a connecting bridge.

     Other CRS professionals on the project include Jerry Gingras, project manager and electrical engineering design; Don Kitchens, PE, mechanical engineering and plumbing design; Richard Stehr, PE, fire protection design, and Darrell Gill, project coordinator.

     CRS Engineering and Design Consultants is a 29-year old firm based in Birmingham that specializes in commercial, healthcare, institutional and religious buildings. CRS performs services in electrical engineering, plumbing engineering, fire protection engineering, mechanical and HVAC engineering, lighting design, telecommunication design and security systems design.

     The firm also has a Huntsville office.
