Indian Springs School

     CRS Engineering and Design Consultants, Inc. is completing construction documents a part of their mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering design services for two dormitories and a science education building on the campus of Indian Springs School in Shelby County.

     According to John W. Gill, PE, principal in charge and project manager for CRS, the buildings are being designed according to “green” building design practices and will feature state-of-the-art information technology systems also being designed by CRS.

     The dorms, one for females and the other for males are each 12,000-square feet. The science education building is 8,400-square feet. Completion of the three one-story buildings is expected by the beginning of the 2006 school year.

     Other CRS professionals on the project include Jason Toves, mechanical 1st add Indian Springs/CRS engineering; Greg Mullinax, electrical engineering; Charles Foshee, plumbing design, John Thomas and David Huddleston, technology systems, and Robert Mills, lighting design and project coordination.

     Architecture Works is the project architect and Brasfield & Gorrie the general contractor.

     CRS Engineering and Design Consultants is a 29-year old firm based in Birmingham that specializes in commercial, healthcare, institutional and religious buildings. CRS performs services in electrical engineering, plumbing engineering, fire protection engineering, mechanical and HVAC engineering, lighting design, telecommunication design and security systems design.

     The firm also has a Huntsville office.
