August 10, 2004 CRS Engineering and Design Construction has recently completed construction documents for a nine-story addition to Birmingham Parking Deck #3 on Richard Arrington Boulevard (21 St North) between 4th and 5th Ave. North. The addition will be connected to the Richard Arrington Boulevard side of the present nine-story deck. According to Ken W. Cater, PE, CRS principal on the project, demolition of the buildings presently on the site is expected to be completed in time to allow for a fall construction start. Other CRS professionals on the project include: Mike Romine, PE, project manager and electrical engineering; Jason Toves, mechanical engineering; Charles Foshee, plumbing design; Richard Stehr, PE, fire protection design; David Huddleston, security system design, and John Gill, PE, lighting design. Williams Blackstock is the architectural firm on the project. CRS Engineering and Design Consultants is a 26-year old firm based in Birmingham that specializes in commercial, healthcare, institutional and religious buildings. CRS performs services in electrical engineering, plumbing engineering, fire protection engineering, mechanical and HVAC engineering, lighting design, telecommunication design and security systems design.
