Clarion Student Housing

CRS Engineering and Design Consultants, Inc. has completed construction documents for two student housing units on the campus of Clarion University, in Pennsylvania. According to Ken Cater, PE, president and principal in charge for CRS, the dormitories have been designed to meet LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
The four story buildings total 108,000-square feet. The dormitories are designed with one, two and four bedroom suites.
Other CRS professionals on the project include Derek Henry, PE, mechanical design; Richard Stehr, PE, fire protection design; Charles Foshee, plumbing design; Phillip Graydon, PE, electric design, and Brad Aaron, project coordinator. RSH Architects, of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, provided architectural services.
Clarion is a project of Capstone Development, based in Birmingham.
CRS Engineering and Design Consultants is a 32-year old firm based in Birmingham that specializes in commercial, healthcare, institutional and religious buildings. CRS performs services in electrical engineering, plumbing engineering, fire protection engineering, mechanical and HVAC engineering, lighting design, telecommunication design and security systems design.
The firm also has a Huntsville office.
