Soho Square

          CRS Engineering and Construction, Inc. has completed construction documents for Soho Square in downtown Homewood. According to Ken Cater, PE, principal in charge for CRS, the company is providing contract administration on the 190,000-square-foot mixed-use project.

          Project manager Jim Teissere provided electrical and lighting design services for the two condominium buildings and the Homewood City Hall and for several retail tenants including Greyhouse Grille, Hasbache Turkish Imports, Laney’s Place, Doree Jeans and Soho Sweets.

          The project includes two, four-story condominium buildings totaling 140,000-square-feet of residential over 50,000-square-feet of retail and the new Homewood City Hall.

          Cohen, Carnaggio and Reynolds is the architect of record. Brasfield and Gorrie the general contractor for the condominiums and McCory is the general contractor for the City Hall.

          CRS Engineering and Design Consultants is a 29-year old firm based in Birmingham that specializes in commercial, healthcare, institutional and religious buildings. CRS performs services in electrical engineering, plumbing engineering, fire protection engineering, mechanical and HVAC engineering, lighting design, telecommunication design and security systems design.

          The firm also has a Huntsville office.
