UAB Campus Dining Facility

          CRS Engineering and Design Consultants, Inc. has completed construction documents on the new 28,000-square foot dining facility on the University of Alabama at Birmingham campus, according to Ken W. Cater, PE, president of CRS and project manager.

          Construction on the two-story building began recently. It will house the main food preparation area on the first floor and a street level deli on the second floor. The new dining facility is on 15th Street and University Boulevard between Blazer Hall and the Campus Recreational Center.

          CRS project team includes Don Kitchens, PE, mechanical engineering; Mike Romine, PE, electrical engineering; Charles Foshee, plumbing design; and Richard Stehr, PE, fire protection design.

          Other professionals on the project include The Garrison Barrett Group, architecture; LBYD, structural engineering; and Walter Schoel, civil engineer.

          CRS Engineering and Design Consultants is a 29-year old firm based in Birmingham that specializes in commercial, healthcare, institutional and religious buildings. CRS performs services in electrical engineering, plumbing engineering, fire protection engineering, mechanical and HVAC engineering, lighting design, telecommunication design and security systems design.

          The firm also has a Huntsville office.
