University Flats

CRS Engineering and Design Consultants, Inc. has completed construction documents for the 52-unit University Flats Condominiums at 10th Place and 10th Avenue South in the Glenn Iris neighborhood.
According to R. Scott Bruner, PE, principal in charge and project manager, the four story condominium is built over covered parking. It features three unit types with one and two bedrooms. The fourth floor flats include lofts.
Construction is expected to begin by the end of the year and take 12 months to complete.
Other CRS professionals on the project include Tony Horton, mechanical engineering design; Phillip Graydon, electrical engineering design; Chris Mahaffey, plumbing design, Richard Stehr, PE, fire protection design; Richard Kassouf, lighting design, and Teri Conti, project coordinator.
Project architectural firm is Rob Walker and Associates and Jones Williams Construction is the general contractor.
CRS Engineering and Design Consultants is a 30-year old firm based in Birmingham that specializes in commercial, healthcare, institutional and religious buildings. CRS performs services in electrical engineering, plumbing engineering, fire protection engineering, mechanical and HVAC engineering, lighting design, telecommunication design and security systems design.
The firm also has a Huntsville office.
